This video shows how to: make a magic loop; make round 2 of treble stitches into the magic loop; and round 3 - to complete the simplest of the festive motifs.

It really pays to block finished crochet projects that you want to have a defined shape and size! Nearly everything you make will benefit from being blocked. But what is blocking?
Blocking can be done using a blocking board or mat and pins. Most fibres can be dampened or steamed and left to dry into the position held by the pins, like these festive motifs.
