Here's a fun introduction to working with T-shirt yarn - the original repurposed/recycled yarn!  Think textured projects and accessories with structure....!  Channel your eco warrior and help me #lovetocrochetloveourplanet (check out my Instagram hashtag!).

This yarn comes from the waste of the European Textile industry, which would otherwise end up in landfill.  No other processing is required for this yarn, as it is simply the selvedges and trimmings from the manufacturing process.
It's wonderfully fun, easy and quick to crochet up into useful and stylish projects.  To get you started, I have chosen a hanging storage solution, a bag you can accessorise with an outfit or use around the home, and a cute storage pot.
Taking place over 3 sessions at the fabulous Westbury Arts Centre (Milton Keynes), the course dates are:
Session 1: Tuesday 21st January 2025: 7:00 - 9:45 pm
Session 2: Tuesday 28th January 2025: 7:00 - 9:45 pm
Session 3: Tuesday 11th February 2025: 7:00 - 9:45 pm
Session 4: Tuesday 25th February 2025: 7:00 - 9:45 pm

Over the course of 4 sessions you will learn how to handle the thicker yarn and larger hook, learn new crochet stitch variations and techniques and make the following 3 projects:

  1. A handy hanging storage nest
  2. A trendy shoulder bag (choice of styles)
  3. A cute animal pen pot or crochet hook pot with a solid wood base
  4. The final session will be a project finish up session (I know how hard it can be to do your homework!) and I will provide a fun extra mini project to finish on.
ALL materials will be supplied, including:
  • a choice of recycled T-shirt yarns
  • a wooden crochet base (for pen pot)
  • size 6-10mm crochet hook(s)
  • recycled cotton project bag
  • all crochet patterns from the workshops
  • PLUS valuable reminder videos (accessible after each workshop).
The maximum workshop size will be 7, to ensure sufficient individual guidance during the session.
Please do bring a snack along with you - crochet is hungry work!
